Wedding Receptions

From our first meeting to the closing dance at the reception, we are with you...and the memories will be with you for a lifetime.

Thank you for taking the time to consider Classic Masters.  This page has been carefully designed for future brides and grooms. We hope you will find it very helpful.

Setting up and breaking down equipment

Set up is approximately sixty to ninety minutes prior to playing time.  Breaking down is naturally at the end of the playing time schedule. 

Meetings

You are welcome to schedule two meetings with us, but they are not mandatory and really not necessary.  With today's hectic schedules and rising fuel prices, most people opt to communicate by phone, email or fax. 

If you would like to meet, the first would be an intial meeting to discuss your wedding reception and our services.  A second meeting could be scheduled one week before your reception to discuss the details of the day. 

Formalities

All of the traditional wedding formalities are included.  You can choose as many as you like or opt for none.  Thats entirely up to you.

Closing Dance.  This is the last dance with the Bride and Groom and closes the reception.

Please keep in mind that in addition to five hours of playing time our work schedule includes two meetings, unlimited phone conversations,  set up,  breaking down, traveling, the traditional formalities, and extra announcements such as an anniversary, birthday or a special recognition for one of your guests.

Music

The music at a Wedding Reception usually follows this format, however, we can tailor it to your liking.

Cocktail Hour 

The older Jazz played at a low volume while the guests are mingling and talking.  This is a nice touch and is great for atmosphere.  Just a side note, if you are having a cocktail hour, its best to book five hours.  

Dinner

We can continue with the Jazz or if you like,  mix in soft vocal artists.  The volume is at a low level to add atmosphere and not to disrupt the guest's conversations.

Cake Cutting

Music will be discussed when we meet.  Bride and Groom's choice.

Traditional Dances

The Bride and Groom will pick the songs for their dance, the Wedding Party Dance, the Parental Dances, and the Closing Dance.

Dancing

The goal is to play music that everyone will enjoy.  Its a big mix of music so that those young, senior, and in the middle get the chance to dance to music from their era. 

Requests

We take requests during the reception and if they fit the plan of the day, we will do our best to play them.  Keep in mind, we don't play gangster rap, heavy metal or anything freaky or nasty.  Also, we only play music from our library.

Customizing Music Formats

Sometimes we get requests where the Bride and Groom will want to pick every song from the beginning of the reception to the end of the reception.  We can do that for an addtional fee.  Music that we don't have in our library will have to be provided by the Bride and Groom.  Again, no gangster rap, heavy metal or anything freaky or nasty.

Party Dances

We do them unless otherwise arranged.  The dances get the party going and guaranteed your guests will ask for them.  You can find the dances on the "Home" page.

Equipment

Classic Masters has the industry's finest pro audio equipment.  You'll love the sound.  Equipment is listed on the "Home" page.

Attire

We dress with respect to the occasion. 

Written Agreement

Yes.  We put in in writing. Please see the "Home" page.

Flexible

Your wedding day is the biggest day of your life and we at Classic Masters want it to be right for you.  We are flexible when working with Brides and Grooms.  So please feel free to discuss what you invision when its comes to your reception.  We look forward to your call.

Outside Wedding Receptions

The equipment has to be powered and protected.  You would have the option of renting protection for the equipment and if needed, a generator to power the equipment or we can rent them and add it into your cost.  If we rent it and need to set it up there will be an additional $100.00 set up and breakdown fee plus any fees with respect to renting a tent and/or generator.

Pricing and some food for thought

We at Classic Masters realize the economy is slow and budgets are tight.  We believe our rates are very reasonable.  Please keep in mind there is a lot of work behind the scenes when it comes to weddings.  Its not just some dj standing there for four or five hours playing music.  A DJ can put in an average of twenty hours behind the scenes work when  it comes to weddings.

Classic Masters is a professional dj service.  Quality and professionalism are what you are paying for when it comes to the biggest day of your life These are two very important points to remember.

Now why do I mention this.  Because in the 25+ years I've been in the dj business I have seen and heard of many instances where the bride and groom hired a dj by price only to be very disappointed.  Its usually a case of they hired the cheapest dj they could find or they didn't get a written agreement.  Unfortunately, you get what you pay for and sometimes "it ain't pretty."  So don't let this happen to you.

Every dj is a separate talent.  Look at it this way.  You need cereal for breakfast.  Store "A" has your brand for $2.00 per box, store "B" $1.50.  The same product, two different prices.  Myself, I would  buy from store "B".  Same thing just cheaper.  With DJs its not that way.  Every dj is a different product or service. 

Your dj will play a very big part in making your reception a success!  From the background music during cocktail hour and dinner to the introductions, all of the formailities, and most of all when it comes time for you and your guests to get down, dance, and party.

Your wedding is the biggest day of your life and it has to be done right the first time.  Because in the end, thats all you get is a first time.   There's a place for the dollar menu, but it shouldn't be at your wedding.
